Reconnect with the meaning of Christmas: Kazapua

WINDHOEK, 23 DEC (NAMPA) – Holidays are wonderful times to gather and reflect on one year gone by and celebrate the coming year with hope and enthusiasm, says Windhoek Mayor Muesse Kazapua.
He was quoted as saying in the City of Windhoek (CoW)’s November/December 2014 Aloe newsletter that while Christmas might be a happy time of the year, it is often filled with worries, frustration and stress.
“In all the holiday hustle and bustle the real meaning of Christmas often gets lost, thus some get themselves dreading holidays rather than looking forward to it. I invite you to reconnect with the meaning of Christmas,” he said.
The mayor acknowledged Windhoek’s committed and active volunteers, community and organisations who worked tirelessly this year to support those who were in need.
“Without the hard work of these dedicated volunteers, the city would not be such a wonderful place to call home. Thank you all for your generous contributions which continues to create a positive difference in our community,” he praised.
In addition, Kazapua requested people to reach out a little further and help those around them, and look for those who might need that extra helping hand.
He also showed appreciation to the staff of the City and elected councillors for their commitment in working together with the community to make a positive and lasting contribution to the CoW.
The 34-year-old Kazapua was elected mayor early December this year, replacing Agnes Kafula who is expected to join Parliament in March next year.
