Twenty-nine die in road accidents in less than a month

WINDHOEK, 23 DEC (NAMPA) - The //Karas, Kavango East and West regions have recorded the lowest number of road accidents from 22 November to 21 December 2014.
The Motor-Vehicle Accident Fund (MVA Fund) said in a statement on Monday that only three road accidents were recorded in the above regions for the period under review.
The Omaheke Region recorded five road accidents over the same period.
The Khomas Region has again recorded the highest number of road accidents over that period – 133.
In total, 338 road crashes were recorded, compared to 393 over the same period last year.
More males than females were injured in those crashes, and the same applied for fatalities - 72 per cent of fatalities were male and 28 per cent female.
A total of 29 people died in road crashes over the period under review, compared to 49 last year.
