Police officer steals car at Tses

WINDHOEK, 22 DEC (NAMPA) – A //Karas police officer is being investigated by his colleagues for allegedly stealing a fellow police officer's motor vehicle as well as possession of cannabis.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Inspector, Slogan Matheus told reporters during the weekly crime briefing here that the 23-year-old police constable stole the car keys from a sleeping colleague’s pockets at Tses in the //Karas Region.
The suspect drove away with the vehicle.
It was later found parked next to the 'Welcome to Tses' sign at the entrance of the Tses Village, with the suspect asleep inside.
The accused was searched, and police officers found a parcel of cannabis in his pockets. The weight and value of the substance is unknown.
He will appear in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate's Court on Monday.
