KUALA TERENGGANU, July 15 (Bernama) -- Saidati Jaya Berkat Enterprise, based here, has invested close to RM100,000 to expand its factory to process pineapple-based products to facilitate the company to get halal certification.
Its Manager Saidati Mohamad said the company had built a factory fully equipped with processing machines in a 792-sq metre workshop.
"Before this, we have an old workshop but its production was limited and it's difficult to get halal certification," she told Bernama.
Saidati Jaya Berkat is a 100 per cent-owned Bumiputera company which produces pineapple-based products such as pineapple juice, pineapple with chilli, rojak sauce and others.
Saidati, 33, said the company's products are now marketed in Pontian, Johor, Kuantan, Kuala Lumpur and around Kuala Terengganu.
She said the most popular products that are well-received by consumers are pineapple sauce priced at RM3.50 a bottle, rojak sauce (RM5), pineapple juice (RM1.50), cordial (RM15) and flower cordial (RM12).
Saidati, who graduated from Kolej Teknologi Bestari in Setiu, said she ventured into the business in 2010 after getting guidance from Mardi (Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute).
"I have to acquire more experience and skills if I want my products to go further and penetrate hypermarkets in the country," she said, adding the products are sold under the 'Saidati' brand.
She also said the company was looking for distributors in the country and those interested can contact her at 019-943 5281 or 09-662 1290.
