Decomposed body of security guard found in Eros

WINDHOEK, 14 DEC (NAMPA) – A body of a male person was discovered in an advanced decomposed stage in Sinclair Street in Eros on Thursday last week.
Namibian Police Spokesperson, Slogan Matheus, told a media briefing here on Sunday that the body was discovered by a passerby at around 19h35.
The deceased had no formal identification on him accept for the uniform that he was wearing belonging to Stallion Security.
The deceased also had a bullet wound visible on his head.
“He has been identified but the name cannot be disclosed as his next of kin has not yet been informed,” Matheus said.
NamPol is also investigating the death of a cattle herder whose body was discovered in a field at a farm outside Windhoek on Thursday.
According to Matheus, the adult male was pushed into a hole head first, with only his feet visible above the ground when he was discovered.
He said that a goat was also found inside the same hole, which might suggest that the man might have tried to rescue a goat that was trapped inside the hole.
The deceased was reported missing on 11 December 2014 but is suspected to had died between 10 and 12 December 2014.
Matheus could however not say whether the man was murdered, as the cause of death has not yet been determined. A case of murder has nonetheless been opened with NamPol.
18-year-old Tuamanovandu Karonda was stabbed to death with a sharp object at Single Quarters on Saturday.
The incident took place at around 03h49 in Vicky Ipinge Street, where an unknown suspect stabbed the deceased once on the right side of his back for unknown reasons.
Matheus said the deceased was recently released from the hospital for treatment on another stab wound.
His next of kin has already been formally informed and police investigations continue.
NamPol also recorded three cases of attempted murder since Friday.
A member of the Namibian Defence Force (NDF) was arrested for shooting a co-worker on the chest with a private pistol on Saturday.
According to NamPol, the suspect, 54, who is a Warrant Officer by rank and the victim were both off-duty when the incident occurred.
The victim was admitted to the Katutura State Hospital and is currently receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The suspect was also arrested on the same day.
The motive for the shooting has not yet been established. The suspect will make his first appearance in the Katutura Magistrate Court on Monday.
A 36 year-old man sustained an open wound after he was allegedly stabbed on his backside with a knife on Saturday at around 20h12.
The incident took place in the Havana Location when the suspect, a 17 year-old male, got into an argument at a shebeen in that area which resulted in the stabbing.
The victim was admitted at the Katutura State Hospital and the suspect was arrested and is due to appear in the Katutura Magistrate Court on Monday.
Meanwhile, at Rundu, a 32 year-old male allegedly assaulted his girlfriend with fists all over her body untill she collapsed.
The victim was admitted to the Rundu State Hospital and is reported to be in a stable condition.
The reasons behind the assault are not yet known and police investigations into the matter continue.
The suspect has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and is due to appear in the Rundu magistrate Court on Monday.
