NAUKLUFT, 07 DEC (NAMPA) - The newly renovated Naukluft Camping Site was re-introduced to the public on Saturday.
The site located in the Naukluft section of the Namib-Naukluft National Park was renovated at a cost of nearly N.dollars 8 million.
It consists of six bungalows, 10 camping sites with basic amenities such as a kiosk, bar and swimming pool.
The site offers outdoor adventures such as 4x4 trails, hiking trails, nature walks and an excellent opportunity for bird viewing.
Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) Managing Director (MD), Zelna Hengari officiated at the event.
She congratulated her team for its remarkable work over the past years.
“I am grateful that today marks another milestone in the NWR’s history as we present the newly renovated Naukluft campsite to the public,” Hengari said.
The re-introduction of the campsite was also attended by the Governor of the Hardap Region, Katrina Hanse-Himarwa.
The Namib-Naukluft National Park lies along the coast of Namibia stretching from the Swakop River in the north to Aus/Luderitz road in the south.
It was proclaimed a national park in 1968 after Government purchased Farm Naukluft to protect the endangered Hartmann’s mountain zebra.
