BESUT, July 14 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu Veterinary Services Department (JPV) has vaccinated 10,932 heads of cattle throughout the state from January to May this year to prevent an outbreak of foot and mouth diseas (FMD).
Its director Dr Marzuki Zakaria said so far, Terengganu was free from FMD.
"The (vaccination) programme is carried out regularly to protect the state's cattle from being infected with FMD," he told Bernama here today.
Marzuki said the department focused on high risk areas including Besut as cattle in the district had a record of infections.
