BULAWAYO, 06 DEC (NAMPA) The track and field events of the 2014 Zone Six (Z6) games underway here have been postponed to Monday due to an unfinished stadium.
The event was supposed to commence on Friday at White City Stadium, but by Friday afternoon the stadium was still being renovated.
Member of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) told Nampa on Saturday that they expect that the renovations will finish soon in order for the athletics games to commence.
Namibia has 15 able-bodied athletes and 30 athletes with disabilities scheduled to take part in track and field.
The White City Stadium saw the installation of a new tartan track, while a new lawn was also planted and dressing rooms renovated.
According to the Southern Eye online newspaper based in Zimbabwe, these jobs were expected to be completed by 20 November for the Z6 games which will be held from 04 to 15 December.
