M'SIA MAY WIN MEDAL IN 50M RIFLE PRONE MEN'S TEAM

KAZAN, (Russia), July 14 (Bernama) -- The men's 50m rifle prone team may contribute a medal to the Malaysian medal tally at the 27th World University Games (27th Universiade) at the Sviyaga Shooting Complex Shooting Range tomorrow.

Malaysian shooter Hisyam Adzha said he and teammates Mohd Nurahimin Abd Halim and Mohamad Lutfi Othman were more confident of their chances in this category as it was their favourite event.

"The 50m rifle prone is of course our favourite event compared to the 10m air rifle today," he said.

In the 10m air rifle men's team event today, the trio ended 12th out of 15 teams with a total of 1819.6 points.

The gold medal went to the Zhiguo Liu/Yifei Cao/Lilong Liu team from China with 1877.8 points while the silver medal was won by the home team of Nazar Luginets/Sergey Kamenskiy/Sergei Kruglov (1874.3 points).

The South Korean team of Sung-hyun Park/Jeyul Jeyon/Jeawon Lee grabbed the bronze medal with 1855.0 points. -- BERNAMA NS AO
