Kalahari Holdings celebrates 25th anniversary

WINDHOEK, 05 DEC 2014, (NAMPA) – Kalahari Holdings (PTY) LTD celebrated its 25th anniversary here on Thursday under the theme “Creating value where people and profit meet”.
Speaking at the occasion, Namibian and Swapo-Party president Hifikepunye Pohomba said Kalahari Holdings, as a Swapo business entity, has played its part in creating employment, reducing poverty and contributing to the national Treasury in the form of taxes.
The president said Kalahari Holdings has also strengthened the party’s administration through renovating and building the party’s offices in the country.
He told the entire team of Kalahari Holdings that his party’s leadership is proud of their team.
“We have trust and confidence in your ability to take Kalahari Holdings to greater heights of success,” said Pohamba, while urging them to remain focused in order to achieve more success for the benefit of the party and its broad membership.
Founded in 1989, Kalahari Holdings deals with transportation, farming, property development, security, hospitality and entertainment.
It is worth an estimated N.dollars 200 million.
The executive chairperson of the company, Kalumbi Shangula said during the same occasion that it was not easy to put Kalahari Holdings where it is today, adding that it experienced some challenges in terms of growing between 2002 and 2007.
“The results we see today are the results that will create the future of our country,” he said.
Shangula also thanked all Swapo supporters who cast their votes in the general elections on 28 November 2014 to make sure their party is victorious.
