BUTTERWORTH, July 14 (Bernama) -- One of two men on a motorcycle fired shots at two teenagers and a man who were chatting under a flyover in Bagan Dalam last night, killing one of the teens and injuring the two other people in the second shooting incident in Penang in three days.
Seberang Perai North police chief ACP Abdul Rahman Ibrahim said the teenager killed, M. Ravindran, 19, was shot thrice on the left side of his body in the 10 pm shooting and died as he was being rushed to the Seberang Jaya Hospital.
The other teenager, S. Leenesh, 18, and the man, A. Sukumar, 52, were also sent to the hospital, he said.
Abdul Rahman said the trio were chatting under the flyover, where the cars of occupants of a nearby flats were parked, when two men approached them on a black Yamaha LC motorbike.
"One of the men then fired six shots at close range," he said, adding that passers-by helped to send the trio to hospital.

Abdul Rahman said that based on the six bullet casings found at the scene, the assailant had used an automatic gun.
The motive for the shooting had yet to be determined, he said.
"The dead teenager was from the Pantai Bersih Flats here and was unemployed. The two others are from Hujung Batu here and Kulim, Kedah," he said.
Abdul Rahman appealed to members of the public with information on the shooting to contact any police station.
Last Thursday, a four-year-old boy, B. Shawn Yashwin, was injured after he took bullets fired by one of two men on a motorcycle at his father and a friend who were chatting in the compound of a Bukit Jambul apartment.
