WINDHOEK, 01 DEC (NAMPA) - President-elect Hage Geingob has promised to be humble and serve all Namibians.
He made the remarks during the announcement of the 2014 Presidential and National Assembly elections’ results by the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) on Monday, following countrywide voting on Friday.
Geingob said he will also work with opposition parties, which he “terribly defeated,” in this year’s general elections.
He said he was humbled by the number of people - young and old - around the country who turned out at Swapo-Party rallies, and acknowledged that Namibians and political parties ran peaceful campaigns.
Geingob, who is Namibian Prime Minister and Swapo vice-president, noted that as Namibia’s next president, he has a responsibility that he cannot carry out without the support of the Namibian people.
