TALISMANUS, 28 NOV (NAMPA) - Voters at some places in the Otjombinde Constituency of the Omaheke Region are having difficulties using the electronic voting machines (EVMs). Presiding officers at various polling stations in the constituency told Nampa that many voters had to be assisted by polling officers on how to operate the EVMs. Rikondjera Kavari, a presiding officer at the Helena Primary School polling station, said many voters, especially the elderly, had to be assisted in the use of the EVMs. ?It appears that the training given to the people on the operation of these machines may not have been sufficient, or people just didn't pay attention during the training,? he said. Presiding officers are however optimistic that the voting pace will increase towards the afternoon. Otjombinde has 3 867 registered voters. (NAMPA) CT/ND
