KEETMANSHOOP, 28 NOV (NAMPA) ? The Governor of the //Karas Region, Bernadus ?Clinton? Swartbooi cast his vote at around 08h30 at the WK Rover Community Hall in Tseiblaagte at Keetmanshoop on Friday. Asked by Nampa whether he felt that his vote and the votes cast for his party would garner him a seat in the new parliament, Swartbooi said ?every vote counts?. Swartbooi is listed in 75th spot on the Swapo Party list of candidates for the National Assembly. The 37-year old politician smiled as he exited the last booth in the voting process. He said the election process was empowering, and it allowed him and other voters to make a statement about the future. As for the hour-long delay in voting experienced at the community hall, Swartbooi said the delay was insignificant. ?This is not new at elections, it is actually normal. I think people should be concerned when they feel the process lacks transparency, if they feel intimidated or if they feel that they are not free during the voting process,? Swartbooi told Nampa.
