Khomas ready for elections

WINDHOEK, 27 NOV (NAMPA) – The Khomas Region will use 504 electronic voting machines (EVMs) for the elections on Friday.
Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) coordinator for Khomas, Hendrik van Wyk said the commission has set aside another 40 machines which will be given to returning officers at each polling station as standby machines.
“Khomas is ready, we are just busy distributing materials to the polling stations,” said Van Wyk.
The Khomas Region consists of 10 constituencies. It has 141 fixed polling stations, 20 mobile teams and 10 verification centres.
A total of 231 516 people have registered as voters in this region.
A total of 1 241 194 Namibians registered to vote in the Presidential and National Assembly elections on Friday. These elections are conducted in the country every five years.
