KOTA BAHARU, July 13 (Bernama) -- Kelantan skipper Mohd Badhri Mohd Radzi who did not report for the National team's centralised training says he has valid reason for his absence.
Mohd Badhri, voted the best player in the FA Cup final between his team Kelantan and Johor Darul Takzim said the reason for his absence was due to a hamstring injury that he had suffered during a Super League match.
The midfielder said he has a letter from a specialist to confirm that he was suffering from a hamstring injury and had contacted assistant coach Tan Cheng Hoe to inform him of the injury which he had suffered during a Super League match against Lions XII at the Sultan Muhammad Stadium, here.
"I had a medical check up at the Perdana Specialist Hospital here after the final and was told by the doctor to rest for at least two weeks. The doctor had also advised me to undergo treatment in Kota Baharu," he said when met at his house, here, today.
Newspapers had reported that National team manager Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal had said stern action would be taken against Mohd Badhri or 'Piya' as he was known, for failing to report for training on Thursday.

Subahan had said Mohd Badhri's excuse that he could not attend training due to a flight delay from Kota Baharu to Kuala Lumpur on Thursday, was not acceptable.
Meanwhile, head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal he had to drop Mohd Badhri and Pahang striker Azamuddin Akil as both were injured.
However, according to Rajagobal, Mohd Badhri need to come to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) in Kelana Jaya so that a doctor can confirm the injury.
