WINDHOEK, 04 NOV (NAMPA) – The Chairperson of the First National Bank (FNB) Namibia Board, Claus Hinrichsen says the construction of the bank’s new multimillion dollar office building in the capital is progressing well.
The new FNB office building is located along Independence Avenue in Windhoek’s Central Business District, opposite the Kalahari Sands Hotel.
It is being constructed at a cost of over N.dollars 425 million.
Speaking at a roof wetting ceremony for the building here on Monday, Hinrichsen said the construction has started off well and a lot of progress has been made so far.
“It is amazing to find this multi-storey structure at a place where not-too-long ago, there was a parking terrain which then gave way to a gaping hole. And what is praiseworthy is the building progress made by our builders within, or even ahead of schedule,” he said.
The building is being constructed at what used to be the OK parking area.
Speaking at the same occasion, property developer Dacre Hattingh of Eris Property Namibia said the construction which started on 15 August 2013 is expected to be completed by the end of April 2015.
“We have only six months to complete the structure,” he said.
Hattingh said the building will be made up of six office floors with 15 948 square metres of gross area and basement levels with 685 parking bays.
FNB Namibia Limited is a commercial bank which provides a full range of banking services to individuals. Their business and corporate divisions offer services and solutions that meet the needs of enterprises - both large and small - throughout the country.
