ONGWEDIVA, 23 OCT (NAMPA) – The 2014 Helao Nafidi Business Expo in the Ohangwena Region starts on Monday and will run until 01 November.
The Helao Nafidi Town Council’s local economic development officer, Selma Shekuza told Nampa on Wednesday exhibitors are anticipated to finish erecting their stalls on Sunday.
She said the Minister of Regional and Local Government, Housing and Rural Development, Major-General (Rtd) Charles Namoloh will officially open the expo next Wednesday.
Business networking, trade, entertainment and fun are on the menu for the 10th edition of the Helao Nafidi Business Expo.
Shekuza pointed out that a total of 391 individual exhibitors, companies and institutions will participate in the expo this time around, compared to some 100 exhibitors that took part in last year’s fair.
The participation of more government ministries has also led to an increase in the number of exhibitors this year.
She singled out the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration, saying this ministry will for the first time issue visitors with national documents during the expo.
“Exhibitors are all from within Namibia. The uniqueness of this year’s expo is that it’s moving from dominant kappa-selling to serious entrepreneurial networking through business information-sharing conferences,” Shekuza said.
The expo is taking place at its usual venue, the Helao Nafidi Recreation Park, which is situated some five kilometres from the Oshikango border-post.
The six-day 2014 Helao Nafidi Business Expo is anticipated to attract visitors from all over Namibia.
