WINDHOEK, 22 OCT (NAMPA) – The country’s central bank, the Bank of Namibia (BoN) has left the repo rate unchanged at 6,0 per cent.
BoN Governor Ipumbu Shiimi said during the Monetary Policy announcement in Windhoek on Wednesday the decision was taken to support domestic economic activities, while monitoring the effects of recent monetary policy decisions.
“Strong growth in household credit, which is largely financing unproductive imported luxury goods and putting pressure on the international reserves of the country, remains a concern,” he said.
