OTJIWARONGO, 19 OCT (NAMPA) – A 24-year-old teacher at Grootfontein Agri College Private School died in the early hours of Sunday morning after she lost control of the vehicle she was driving.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Otjozondjupa Regional Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Maureen Mbeha told Nampa in an interview on Sunday the deceased has been identified as Vanri Spangenberg.
Mbeha said Spangenberg had been driving from Grootfontein to Farm Maria Bron situated 10 kilometres north-west of Grootfontein at around 05h00 when the accident occurred.
Spangenberg apparently lost control of the small Chevrolet pick-up, causing it to roll five times before coming to a standstill.
She died on the spot, Mbeha said, adding that she was alone in the vehicle.
Her next of kin have been informed of her death.
In a separate incident, the Otjozondjupa police have offered a N.dollars 5 000 reward for any person with information that will lead to the recovery of two jackpot machines which were stolen at Erari Sports Pub in Okakarara on Wednesday.
Mbeha said the two machines are valued at N.dollars 162 000, and also contained an unspecified amount of money.
No arrests has been made in connection with the break-in so far.
Police investigations in both cases continue.
