SUBANG JAYA, July 11 (Bernama) -- Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd allocates close to RM200,000 to carry out its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes for the whole month of Ramadan.
President and Group Chief Executive Officer Ab Latiff Abu Bakar said this was one of the company's efforts to get closer to the various levels of society especially those in need.
Today, the company contributed RM16,000 to the Al-Ikhlas Home of Elderly Care and Treatment in Puchong, Selangor through its Ramadan programme.
"This is the first programme during this Ramadan and the second official visit to this home after a similar visit in Ramadan last year.
"We celebrate the elderly as they are very special and needs attention especially from the community," he said to the media after handing over the contribution.
Besides this contribution, other daily necessities are also provided including medicine, clothing, food as well as other needs to manage the home.
Also present was Senior Vice President of Corporate Services Division, Takaful Ikhlas, Yushida Husin.
Earlier, 66 residents of the home received free health examinations before attending a special religious class by the company's employees besides a get-together session and iftar dinner.
Ab Latiff said the session with the community was one of Takaful Ikhlas' core initiatives in its efforts to instill elements of caring to the people.
He said various activities have been planned during Ramadan such as the exclusive cooperation 'Titipan Kasih Harian Metro' at Olak Lempit, 'Bubur Lambuk' programme, 'Salam Sahur', 'Kasih Syawal', health examination for chronic patients and 'Jom Beli Baju Raya', which will be held nationwide.
