Frank Fredericks Foundation to host Golf Day

WINDHOEK, 08 OCT (NAMPA) - The Frank Fredericks Foundation (FFF) will host a fundraising Golf Day on 17 October 2014 in the capital.
The event aims to raise funds for academic and sports scholarships for young, talented Namibians.
The golf tournament will have a Betterball Hidden Partner format.
Better ball is comprised of two players rather than three or four players. The two players on the team each play their own golf ball throughout the round. On each hole, the two-team members compare scores, and the lower of their two scores (the better ball, in other words) counts as the team's score.
Organisers further said in a statement availed to Nampa on Wednesday that teams of four members each can enter the prestigious event for N.dollars 5 000.
Prizes for the top 10 teams will be made available, and prizes for the longest drive and the closest to the pin will be up for grabs too.
Frank Fredericks, founder and chairperson of the Frank Fredericks Foundation, was quoted in the statement as saying the funds raised will directly benefit young Namibian student athletes both academically and in their sports careers.
I believe that this will also be a great opportunity for companies and individuals to interact and get to know more about the activities held under the patronage of the foundation, he said.
The statement added that companies or individuals who are not able to attend the event but would like to make a contribution, are welcome to do so.
