3 DIE, 10 INJURED IN MOSQUE BLAST IN NORTH WEST PAKISTAN

ISLAMABAD, July 11 (Bernama) -- At least three people were killed and 10 others injured when a bomb went off outside a mosque in northwest Pakistan on Thursday, Xinhua news agency quoted a local media report as saying. Local Urdu TV channel Dawn said the explosion took place at 1:45 p.m. local time when worshippers were leaving a mosque after offering their afternoon prayers at a mosque in a village located some 25 km from Kohat district in northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Police said the blast was triggered off by a remote controlled device and explosive materials were found fixed at a motorbike parked outside the mosque's main gate. Injured victims have been taken to the Kohat district hospital where at least three remain in critical condition. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Police have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. --BERNAMA EE
