OKAHAO, 29 SEP (NAMPA) - The Deputy Mayor of Okahao, Cornelia Iiyambula last week handed over golf T-shirts and caps to the local group of the Women and Men Network against Crime.
The handing over took place on Thursday at the council’s offices at Okahao in the Omusati Region.
The Okahao Town Council decided to assist the group to encourage its members to help making Okahao a crime-free and investor-friendly town.
Spokesperson of the Okahao Town Council, Onesmus Shigwedha informed Nampa on Monday that the leadership of Okahao has praised the group for its willingness to work with the council in combating crime and also its involvement in cleaning campaigns.
“The donation, therefore, marks the beginning of a joint relationship to root out crime and clean the town,” Shigwedha stated.
The first cleaning campaign by the group commenced on Monday this week, with the group cleaning and de-bushing overgrown vicinities near the town's residential areas.
