TWO LORRY DRIVERS CHARGED FOR KILLING COLLEAGUE

KUANTAN, July 11 (Bernama) -- Two lorry drivers were charged in the Magistrate's Court here today for the murder of their colleague, last month.

Khairul Jasmi Abdul Majid, 33, from Lorong Sungai Isap Perdana 20, here and Mohd Amir Adzhar Hassan, 29, from Felda Chini 4, Pekan, were charged with killing Mohd Zainuddin Mohd Yusoff, 42, between noon and 12.20pm on June 27.

They were accused of committing the offence at the open space near Stesen Minyak Shell Jalan Kuantan-Bypass, Kampung Chendering, here.

Both accused were charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

However, no plea was recorded from both the accused after the charge was read to them before Magistrate Jesseca Daimis.

Jesseca later fixed Aug 19 for remention of the case. Deputy Public Prosecutor Farahah Mohd Nazari appeared for the prosecution.

The media previously reported that the body of Mohd Zainuddin was found behind the petrol station at 1.20pm on June 27.

Police had confirmed that there was an injury mark on the victim's head which was believed to have been hit with a hard object.
