Unkown man found dead in Soweto

WINDHOEK, 21 SEP (NAMPA) – The body of an unknown male was found by members of the public in the Soweto residential area in Windhoek on Sunday morning.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) spokesperson Sergeant Slogan Matheus at the weekly crime briefing on Sunday said the body was found at about 04h30 in Eden Street.
The deceased had sustained severak stabbed wounds. It is suspected that he had been walking from a nearby shebeen when he succumbed from his injuries. The deceased was found lying in the road in a pool of blood. A Bible was discovered in one of his trouser pockets.
The police are calling on members of the public who are missing a family member to visit the Namibian Police Mortuary next to the Windhoek Central Hospital to help identify the body.
No arrests have been made in connection with the matter yet, and police investigations continue.
On Saturday, a man was shot dead after he and his accomplice broke into a house in Tuba Street, Grysblok in Windhoek. According to Matheus, the owner woke up after he heard some movements and noise in his yard at around 01h00. He then fired a shot in the direction of the two suspects, shooting one in the neck. The other suspect fled the scene. The deceased died on the scene and has been identified as the 30-year-old Thomas Mulondo Ndakalako. Some stolen goods were found next to the deceased. The police have informed his next of kin, and investigations continue.
The Wanaheda Police are also investigating an armed robbery after five men held a woman at gunpoint at a bar before stealing a gambling machine and a cash box.
The incident took place on Saturday at around 01h00 at Omutemo Bar in the Havana location. It is alleged that the suspects were armed with four pistols, while another suspect was armed with an AK47 rifle. The value of the stolen gambling machine is estimated at about N.dollars 75 000, while the amount in the cash box has not yet been determined. Police investigations continue.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Jeffrey Goagoseb was shot in the hip by unknown man on Saturday in the Luxury Hill residential area.
The incident occurred at a club at around 04h30.
Goagoseb and two companions had been waiting for a taxi when an unknown man fired the shot which hit him.
He has been admitted to the Katutura State Hospital and is in a serious, but stable condition. Police investigations continue.
