PRASARANA TO DONATE GIFTS RECEIVED DURING RAMADAN, AIDILFITRI

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad (Prasarana) will donate any gift or hamper it received during Ramadan and Aidilfitri.

Its senior vice-president for communications and media, Azhar Ghazali said this was in line with the 'No-Gift Policy' as stipulated in the company's code of business ethics and code of supplier ethics.

"The code of ethics does not allow employees and suppliers to solicit, accept, present and offer gifts, privileges or concessions, entertain, or render/get help to/from clients or customers or any other party which Prasarana has business relations," he said in a statement today.

He said this was to avoid a misconception of a conflict of interest involving those having business relations with Prasarana.

Hence, he said, any gift or reward offered by a third party to Prasarana would be donated to charity homes and orphanages.

This is to uphold the integrity and trust entrusted upon employees through its integrity pledge signed together with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in March 2012.
