PUTRAJAYA, July 10 (Bernama) -- A total of 50,000 copies of the Al-Quran will be handed over to educational institutions and mosques at two districts in Palestine, namely Baitulmaqdis and Gaza, after Aidilfitri for use by the people.

Restu Foundation chairman Datuk Abdul Latiff Mirasa said Al-Quran copies were currently in the process of being printed and expected to be completed during Ramadhan.

So far, 5,000 copies have been printed.

"At least, RM4 million are needed to print the 50,000 copies of the Al-Quran. To date, we have received RM250,000 in donations from the public," Abdul Latiff told reporters after the launch of the Al-Quran Endowments programme by Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi here today.

He said the foundation would also raise funds for the development of the educational institutions in the two districts.

Interested parties can channel funds to the Selangor Islamic Arts Park Complex, Shah Alam or Restu Gallery, PWTC and Nasyrul Qur'an at At-Taqwa Mosque, Penang.
