WOMAN AMONG FIVE WHO ROBBED EATERY PROPRIETOR, WORKERS

KOTA BELUD, July 10 (Bernama) -- A woman was one of five people armed with machetes who robbed an eatery along Jalan Kota Belud-Tamparuli here yesterday, police said today.

Kota Belud Police chief DSP Mohan Nadasen said they robbed the proprietor of the eatery and three workers of four mobile telephones, a gold chain, RM100 and a camera at about 11.30 am.

The robbers fled in a Proton Saga car which was found abandoned in a village at about 4.30 pm, he said in a statement.

Mohan said investigation showed that the car had been reported stolen in Kota Kinabalu in May and had a false registration number.
