NEGERI SEMBILAN AND FELDA UNITED QUALIFY FOR MALAYSIA CUP

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- Negeri Sembilan and Felda United qualified for the Malaysia Cup competition after beating their resepctive opponents in the play-offs tonight.

Negeri Sembilan coasted to an easy 4-0 victory against Sabah at the Shah Alam Stadium.

The squad coached by Ridzuan Abu Shah scored as early as the 10th minute through Mohd Nazrin Mohd Nawi.

Mohd Nazrin increased his tally to two goals when he converted a penalty in the 14th minute after Negeri Sembilan import player Leandro Fabio was brought down in the box by Sabah defender Shahrul Azhar Ture.

Leandro Fabio scored Negeri Sembilan's third goal in the 50th minute before Mohd Nazrin earned a hattrick with his third goal coming in the 85th minute.

At the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Felda United edged Pos Malaysia 1-0 with the winning goal supplied by Shafizan Hashim in the 64th minute.

The two teams will join 14 others in the Malaysia Cup competition which kicks off on Aug 17.
