KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained mixed at mid-afternoon today with losses seen in selected key heavyweights, led by consumer stocks, dealers said.

At 3pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 1.72 points to 1,768.21, after opening 0.18 of a point better at 1,766.67.

Consumer stocks, Nestle slipped 90 sen to RM68.10 and Panasonic Manufacturing declined 40 sen to RM26.70.

Market breadth was negative, with 364 losers and 267 gainers, while 293 counters were unchanged, 653 untraded and 16 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 815.69 million shares worth RM891.94 million.

On the scoreboard, the Plantation Index rose 9.05 points to 8,383.25, while the Industrial Index lost 0.97 of a point to 2,988.21.

The Finance Index shed 2.561 points to 16,879.68 and the FBM Emas Index gained 4.03 points to 12,322.49.

The FBM 70 Index slid 15.24 points to 14,183.63 and the FBM ACE Index declined 9.25 points to 4,745.94.

Among actives, newly listed AirAsia X Bhd gained one sen to RM1.26.

Scomi added one sen to 43 sen, while Asia Media was flat at 16.5 sen.

As for heavyweights, Maybank fell two sen to RM10.40, while CIMB and Axiata were flat at RM8.24 and RM6.66, respectively. -- BERNAMA
