KOTA KINABALU, July 10 (Bernama) -- Banggi state assemblyman, Datuk Abd Mijul Unaini, has been appointed chairman of Sabah Fisheries and Fishermen's Development Corp (Ko-Nelayan).

Prior to the appointment, Mijul was deputy chairman of Ko-Nelayan.

Mijul received the letter of appointment from Deputy Chief Minister

and Agriculture and Food Industry Minister, Datuk Seri Yahya Hussin, at a special ceremony at Wisma Pertanian Sabah today.

Head of Umno Youth Sabah, Datuk Awang Kadin Tang, was appointed deputy chairman of Ko-Nelayan, effective June 1, 2013 to May 31, 2016.

Also present at the ceremony were permanent secretary of the state's Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, Datuk Ujang Sulani, and Ko-Nelayan general manager, Datuk Masood Salleh.

Ko-Nelayan is a social-economic agency of the Sabah state government tasked to boost the livelihood of the fishermen.
