KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd (Prasarana) today reiterated its position on the acceptance of gifts from external parties especially from companies or people having dealings with the goverment-owned company.

While the company appreciated the spirit of generosity among Malaysians, it remains steadfast on its No-Gift Policy to avoid the difficult positions that its employees have to face when dealing with external parties.

"Prasarana Group advocates the values of integrity and trustworthiness in all its dealings. We strictly uphold the No-Gift Policy as stated in the company's Code of Conduct," the company said in its advertisement published in the mainstream media today.

Under the Code of Business Ethics, the Prasarana Group does not allow its staff to solicit, accept or provide gifts, preferential or concessionary offers, entertainment of favours from or to a client or customer, potential client or customer, contractors or suppliers or potential contractors or suppliers of goods and services, or any other party having business dealings with Prasarana Group, as this may prejudice the staffers' independent judgment.

Its Code of Vendor Ethics, meanwhile, stated that no vendor may offer or give any gift, either directly or indirectly, to any Prasarana Group employees.
