BANGKOK, July 10 (Bernama) - Thailand through the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) is eyeing to become a geo-informatics and space technology development centre in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean), Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.
To achieve that goal, GISTDA has invited business operators and relevant agencies to exchange information and experiences on how to further develop national economic growth and to boost the country's competitiveness based on the use of science, technologies and innovations.
GISTDA executive director Dr. Anond Snidvongs na Ayudhaya said growing space technology industry worldwide has prompted his agency to welcome cooperation with the private sector to develop new innovations to increase the industryâ€™s value.
GISDA has provided both the private and public sectors with high resolution satellite images and Geo-informatics services, with relevant data and resources also available at the Space Krenovation Park in Chonburi province in Thai East.
Dr. Anond said GISDA is planning to open a learning centre and training institute to produce postgraduates in the fields, including master and doctorate degrees.
