RUGBY BOYS EYE TOP TWO SPOT IN GROUP B

KAZAN, (Russia) July 9 (Bernama) -- The National rugby squad competing in the World University Games (Universiade) 2013, hope to finish among the top two teams in the group.

Coach Wan Ibrahim Wan Chik said he wants his charges to put up a spirited and strong display despite the fasting month of Ramadan which starts tomorrow.

"What we hope is for the team to put their best foot forward when playing against the best teams in the world because the players need top level competitions like the Universiade to improve their profile.

"To prepare for the actual competition, we will play a friendly match against Canada on Thursday," he told reporters, here.

In the competition's group matches, Malaysia face Great Britain on July 14.

Malaysia are drawn in Group B with Great Britain, Georgia and Belgium.
