Police report two suicides

WINDHOEK, 24 AUG (NAMPA) – A Namibian Defence Force (NDF) member hanged himself at his home in Windhoek on Sunday.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) spokesperson Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi said in a media statement issued on Sunday the 28-year-old Shiimi Themus Hango was a member of the NDF at the Luiperdsvallei military base.
He hanged himself from a tree with an electrical cord at around 07h00 in the Windhoek West residential area.
Hango’s body was discovered by his mother. He did not leave a suicide note behind and no foul play is suspected.
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old Simon Hangula hanged himself in the Babilon residential area in Windhoek on Friday.
Hangula used a rope to hang himself in his shack.
He also did not leave behind a suicide note. Kanguatjivi indicated that no foul play is suspected.
