LA PAZ, July 9 (BERNAMA-NNN-PRENSA LATINA) -- Bolivia will host in September and October a summit of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) on fighting hunger in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The FAO office here confirmed the summit is to be attended by at least 14 countries in the region with the objective of boosting public policies and laws, which allow efforts to achieve food security with sovereignty.

The meeting called by the Parliamentary Front Initiative of Latin America and the Caribbean without hunger also seeks to promote the discussion on hunger from the legislative viewpoint to create an adequate norm framework to eradicate this problem.

Since the creation of this front in 2009, three international forums have been held: the first in Sao Paulo, Brazil; the second in 2011 in Bogota, Colombia and the third in 2012 in Guatemala.
