OTJIWARONGO, 08 AUG (NAMPA) – Three schools in Otjiwarongo each received a cash donation of N.dollars 7 450 from a Namibian-German association on Thursday morning.
‘Hilfe fur kinder in Otjiwarongo-Namibia’association member Petra Schauenberg handed the cash donations to the school principals of the Paresis Senior Secondary School, the Tsaraxa-Aibes Combined School and the Rogate Primary School at the Otjiwarongo Teachers’ Resource Centre.
She said her association found it necessary to donate the money in order to boost the three schools’ financial positions.
“Some beneficiary school principals approached us with requests that they needed money to renovate their school’s toilet facilities.
Some asked the money to buy printing machines and papers, amongst other needs,” Schauenberg noted.
Her association is, however, not going to dictate to the beneficiary schools how to spend the money.
In total, the ‘Hilfe fur kinder in Otjiwarongo’ association donated N.dollars 22 350.
Rogate Primary School principal Emmanuel Nangombe thanked the association on behalf of the other recipients.
“We really appreciate you on this support, and we promise to put the money to good use.
Don’t get tired of us, we are aiming to give top-quality education to our learners, but we only have little resources,” said Nangombe.
Tsaraxa-Aibes Combined School principal Wilfriedtine Naobes received her school’s portion, while Naas Jacobs received the money for the Paresis Senior Secondary School.
Meanwhile, Otjiwarongo Education circuit inspector Cornelia Araes-Shikulo was amongst those who witnessed the handing-over.
