Thieves break into Swapo offices in WHK

WINDHOEK, 03 AUG (NAMPA) - The Swapo regional offices in the capital were broken into over the weekend.
Sergeant Slogan Matheus of the Namibian Police Force Public Relations Division said during a media briefing in the capital on Sunday the incident happened between 24h00 and 01h00 on Saturday.
He said three armed suspects, gun-pointed two security guards, tied them up before robbing 21 offices in the complex.
The suspects took money, laptops and desk computers.
The police are currently trying to get hold of the employees of those offices to determine what other items were taken.
The three suspects are still at large.
In a separate incident, 23-year-old Cwi Kxoara hanged himself between 18h00 and 19h00 on Friday at Tsumkwe.
It is alleged that the deceased was drunk and disturbed other people, who then called the police. However, the suspect hanged himself on a tree before he could be arrested.
Matheus further said Benjamin /Goagoseb, 24, died after being stabbed with a broken bottle on the left side of his neck on Saturday at about 23h00 at the Maya Entertainment Bar in the Dolam residential area in Windhoek.
A 20-year-old suspect was arrested.
In a different incident, 26-year-old Dina Anton died on Thursday at about 14h30 after she was stabbed eight times in the chest, back and on both arms by her ex-boyfriend after she ended their relationship for the second time at the Ozohambo informal settlement in Otjinene area.
Matheus explained that the deceased and her sister allegedly went to the suspect's house in order to remove her belongings, but the suspect allegedly refused to give the deceased's belongings. A quarrel erupted between them, followed by the multiple stabbing.
The two have six children together. The suspect, Johannes Katjiri, was arrested.
In a separate incident, Simeon Shaimbile, 29, died after he allegedly hanged himself between 08h30 and 09h00 on Sunday at the Takaria New Location in Mariental.
It is alleged that the deceased chopped someone with a panga during a fight on Friday. He fled the scene, and threatened that he would to kill himself.
Matheus further announced the death of Weslery Jager, 24, who died after he allegedly fell into a water canal in Mariental on Saturday at about 19h00.
It is alleged that the deceased, who was suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol, tried to cross the water canal at the wrong end, fell into the water and drowned.
The deceased body was retrieved from the water canal on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the 21-year-old Tangeni Nesto will appear in the Tsumeb Magistrate's Court on Monday for allegedly shooting 20-year-old Natangwe Joseph Hauwanga with a shotgun in the right foot and right ankle during a quarrel on Thursday at about 20h00 at a farm in the Kavango West Region.
Police investigations continue.
