JOHOR BAHARU, July 8 (Bernama) -- Kemelah assemblyman Datuk Ayub Rahmat is expected to be appointed a state executive councillor tomorrow to make up the 10th member of the state executive council in the administration of Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

He is expected to be sworn in before the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar, at the Istana Pasir Pelangi.

A palace source said a swearing-in ceremony had been scheduled at the Istana Pasir Pelangi, but declined to elaborate.

Ayub is expected to take up the Health and Environment portfolio which had been left vacant after the MCA declined to take up posts in the state government following its dismal performance in the last general election.

Mohamed Khaled had named nine state executive councillors, among them Datuk Tee Siew Kiong (MCA-Pulai Sebatang) who was appointed by the sultan as the ruler wanted to have representation from all races in the exco line-up.
