WINDHOEK, 30 JUL (NAMPA) – Namibia is in line for a third medal at the Commonwealth Games currently underway in Glasgow, Scotland.
Paralympians Johanna Benson and Lahja Ishitile already earned Namibia two bronze medals in women’s T34 long jump and women’s T12 100 meters, respectively.
Namibia’s third medal will come courtesy of boxer Junius Jonas.
This light welterweight boxer will be in action in the semi-finals on Friday against Northern Ireland's Sean Duffy.
Jonas has been hailed as great boxer and stands a good chance to proceed to the final, but even if he loses the bout, he will still be rewarded with a bronze medal.
The boxing final is on Saturday.
Other Namibian athletes in action this week are paralympic power lifter, Ruben Soroseb, as well as Namibia’s road cyclists.
