ALOR GAJAH, July 7 (Bernama) - Entrepreneurs nationwide have been urged to view intellectual property as a source of income by licensing the use of intellectual property to individuals or companies.
Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk Dr Abu Bakar Mohamad Diah said they should not only focus on selling products produced by intellectual property and think 'outside the box' to generate income.
"It is important for entrepreneurs to register their products as intellectual property. It can protect them against 'pirates'.
"This (the registration of intellectual property) if not taken seriously will affect the sale of products if someone else produce similar products using their brand," he told Bernama here today.
Earlier, Abu Bakar visited Bendang Studio Art and Craft which produces a range of products based on ceramic craft.
