KUALA TERENGGANU, July 7 (Bernama) -- Sultan of Terengganu Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin today graced the investiture of state awards and medals in conjunction with his 51st birthday at the all-new Istana Syarqiyyah, Bukit Chendering here.
A hundred-and-seven out of 324 recipients received their respective awards and medals from the Sultan today, while the remaining 217 recipients will receive theirs at another investiture ceremony scheduled for Tuesday.
State Secretary Datuk Mazlan Ngah and Universiti Pertahanan Nasional vice-chancellor General Tan Sri Zulkifli Zainal Abidin headed the ceremony as they were both conferred the Seri Paduka Mahkota Terengganu (SPMT) award which carries the title 'Datuk'.
The other recipient of the SPMT award was former Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar.
Terengganu High Court Judge Datuk Mohd Yazid Mustafa and Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Mohmad Salleh were conferred the Datuk Setia Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin (DSMZ) award which carries the title 'Datuk', and 'Toh Puan' for their wives.
SULTAN-AWARD 2 KUALA TERENGGANU
Thirteen individuals were conferred the Datuk Paduka Mahkota Terengganu (DPMT) award which also carries the title 'Datuk' and 'Toh Puan' for their wives.
Among the recipients were former Terengganu Infrastructure Development and Public Amenities Committee chairman Datuk Za'abar Mohd Adib, former Terengganu Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Committee chairman Asha'ari Idris and National Civics Bureau director-general Datuk Raja Arif Raja Ali.
Also conferred the DPMT award were Terengganu Works Department director Shafii Mohamad, Terengganu Health Department director Dr Anwa Sulaiman, Terengganu Library Corporation director Nor Akmal Abdul Fatah, Perkaya vice-president Harun Hassan and Terengganu Religious and Malay Custom Council's (Maidam) Dakwah, Education and Halal Management Division senior director Samsiah Awang.
Two Terengganu-born national heroes who perished in the intrusion tragedy in Lahad Datu, Sabah, early this year, ASP Zulkifli Mamat and ACP Ibrahim Lebar, were among the six recipients of the Setia Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin (SMZ) medal.
They were represented by their widows, Noor Aziah Noor and Rosiah Dahlan, respectively.

Meanwhile, Terengganu Education Department director Zakaria Hussin, Maidam Baitulmal division director Mohd Noor Mohamad, Petaling Jaya police chief Petaling Jaya ACP Arjunaidi Mohamed, Penang Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief ACP Roslee Chik and Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (ISMA) president Abdullah Zaik Abdul Rahman were among the 21 people who received the Setia Mahkota Terengganu (SMT) medal.
Twenty-six other people were conferred the Ahli Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Terengganu (AMZ) medal, including Terengganu Social Welfare Department director Zuhami Omar and former Kuala Besut assemblyman, who is also Terengganu Health, Women and Community Development Committee chairman, the late Dr A Rahman Mokhtar, who died on June 26.
Dr A Rahman was represented by his widow Azizah Nik Omar, 55.
Thirty-six other people were conferred the Ahli Mahkota Terengganu (AMT) medal, including Terangganu State Assembly Speaker Mohd Zubir Embong.
At the investiture ceremony on Tuesday, six people will be presented with Pingat Jasa Cemerlang (PJC), 18 to receive Pingat Bintang Lama Berjawatan (BLB), 169 to receive Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) and 23 others to receive Pingat Lama Berjawatan (P.L.B).
