Commenting on the PPA1M, Cuepacs president Datuk Omar Osman said housing projects planned for civil servants should be completed between three and five years' time.

"Otherwise, they will face critical housing woes due to raising house prices and rental.

"Public housing for civil servants must be ready by 2015 at the latest. Just imagine if you've got the opportunity to own a house only when you're 40 and your salary will be deducted until you retire.

"Civil servants will be in difficulties when housing projects for them are delayed," he said, adding that hence, the government should appoint responsible developers to avoid public housing being delayed or abandoned.
