Namibia lose to Kenya in CAR match

WINDHOEK, 28 JUN (NAMPA) - The Namibian senior national rugby team lost its first match of the Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) tournament underway in Madagascar.
The tournament is being used as a qualifier for the 2015 Rugby World Cup set for England next year.
Namibias Welwitschias lost 22-29 against Kenya.
The match was broadcast live on the DStv Super Sport channel on Saturday. Namibia opened the scoring with a try from Heinrich Smith in less than two minutes into the game. Smith scored his second try in the 8th minute of the game, while Willem Kotze scored the conversion to take the score to 12-0 in favour of Namibia.
Kenya scored their first try and conversion just before the half-time break to make it 12-7 at the interval.
In the second half, Kenyas Edward Achayo scored their second try and Lavin Asego converted successfully to put his side in the lead.
Chrysander Botha scored Namibias third try in the 48th minute, while Willem Kotze scored the conversion, followed by a successful penalty conversion soon after.
Kenyan super substitute Andrew Amonde exposed the Namibian defense when he scored a try to end the game 29-22 in favour of the north-eastern African country.
Namibia will face Zimbabwe on Wednesday, and host Madagascar on Saturday.
