KULIM, July 6 (Bernama) -- Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) organised a robotics camp at Anjung Unimap here to increase student knowledge in the field of robotics.

The three-day programme which ended yesterday, was participated by 76 secondary school students in Kulim and Bandar Baharu.

UniMAP Deputy Vice-Chancellor (student affairs) Associate Prof Dr Fo’ad Sakdan said 28 schools were selected for the Rakan UniMAP programme, which included the robotics camp.

"Various activities and programmes were lined up for Rakan UniMAP and were carried out in stages.

"I believe the camp can provide students hands-on exposure on robotics, as well as foster interest towards it," he said at the camp's closing ceremony here yesterday evening.

He said such exposure was a platform for students to improve their talent and creativity in technology, as well as understand the electrical, electronic and mechanical systems, including those involving mechatronics and robotics.
