NamWater suspends Supply Chain Manager

WINDHOEK, 19 JUN (NAMPA) – The Namibia Water Corporation (NamWater) has suspended its supply chain management manager Mathew Nelenge with immediate effect after the discovery of alleged tender irregularities.
Nelenge was based at the head office in Windhoek.
NamWater’s Head of Strategic Communications, Hieronymus Goraseb said in a statement issued on Thursday that the suspension was effected to enable an unhindered investigation to be carried out into the alleged tender irregularities.
Nelenge was suspended with full remuneration until further notice.
Goraseb told Nampa upon enquiry that further details as to the type of irregularities discovered and when the discovery was made could not be given, as investigations are currently being carried out.
“The media will be updated on developments once the investigation has been completed,” he stated.
