KUALA LUMPUR, July 6 (Bernama) -- More entrepreneurship programmes for young entrepreneurs will be organised after the 4th Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2013 (GES) on Oct 11, said Finance Ministry Secretary-General Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah.
He said Malaysia will create more programmes to produce more "Steve Jobs" among young Malaysian entrepreneurs to ensure Malaysia will be recognised by the world.
Mohd Irwan Serigar said entrepreneurs especially youngsters should learn from the fourth GES to gain knowledge, share experiences and ideas and get inspired from the successful entrepreneurs during the event.
"There will be young entrepreneurs as well to give talks to inspire our young generation so that they will adapt and implement it in their lives," he told a press conference after launching the ministry's D-Code programme here. The D-Code marks the countdown to the fourth GES, which is less than 100 days away.
The pilot phase of the D-Code in 2013 aims to introduce coding to approximately 1,620 government primary and secondary school students and teachers and 500 youths in two programmes.
Mohd Irwan Serigar said the D-Code programme is critical for Malaysia to move towards becoming a developed and high-income nation.
