SARAWAK CREATE HISTORY BY STAYING UNBEATEN IN 2013

KUALA LUMPUR, July 5 (Bernama) -- Sarawak created history in the local football scene when they stayed unbeaten in 22 matches throughout the Premier League in the 2013 season.

In their last encounter tonight, they edged Sabah 2-1 at the Likas Stadium, Kota Kinabalu.

It was Sarawak's 18th victory besides being held to a draw in four matches.

The Land of the Hornbills team lifted the Premier League title on June 24, thus promoted to the Super League next season.

Bobby Gonzales became the toast of Sarawak when he scored the winning goal in the 45th minute after Mohd Fazlidin Khalid Sabah equalised in the 36th minute.

Sarawak shot into the lead in the 29th minute through Muamer Salibasic.

Premier League runners-up Sime Darby FC, who also qualified for the Super League next season, finished the campaign by beating Pos Malaysia FC 2-0 at the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium here.

Mohd Fazrul Hazli Mohd Kadri became the hero when he scored both goals, one in each half in the 40th and 80th minutes.

Elsewhere, Johor FA humbled Perlis 4-0 at the Universiti Utara Malaysia Mini Stadium in Sintok, Kedah; Police beat S.P.A. Putrajaya 1-0 at the UiTM Stadium, Shah Alam; Kedah beat Kuala Lumpur 1-0 at the Kuala Lumpur Stadium; Cheras; and UiTM FC beat NS Betaria FC 1-0 at the Hang Jebat Stadium, Melaka.
