WINDHOEK, 11 JUN (NAMPA) – Local boxing promoter Nestor Tobias says current Namibian middleweight champion Walter 'The Executioner' Kautondokwa is “a true champion in the making”.
Kautondokwa, 28, hails from Ondangwa, and boasts an impressive record of five fights and five wins.
His latest victor was on Saturday during the ‘Local is Lekker” boxing bonanza hosted by the MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing and Fitness Academy at the Independence Arena in Katutura.
He knocked out Theophilus Jatileni within 47 seconds of the opening round of their middleweight national title fight.
In a media statement availed to Nampa by the boxing academy on Tuesday, Tobias was quoted as saying Kautondokwa is their best kept secret.
'He is the hardest puncher Namibia has ever produced. He combines his hard punching ability so well with the accuracy of his punches, and that rare skill is not given to any boxer in the world but only a chosen few. I therefore have no doubt that he is destined for a bright boxing future and will no doubt become a world champion,” said the boxing promoter.
Kautondokwa have won four of his five fights to-date by knock-outs.
Tobias added that he will ensure that the boxer gets at least 10 fights under his belt before he is introduced to the international boxing arena to take on experienced fighters.
“We are very fortunate to have such a naturally gifted boxer in our academy and I can assure you that his skills, combinations, power, speed and accuracy is what every boxer dreams of,” he stated.
